In 2024, Lauren launched her production company, Velma Jean Productions (VJP). Her first short film, She Said, Yes, will be the first of many titles under VJP. Her production company is named after her two grandmothers, Velma James and Hilda Jean Barnes, two strong matriarchs who taught Lauren about compassion, leadership, grace, and tenacity. She hopes to continue their legacy by producing tv shows and films about female empowerment.
